Common Cause

What is a Common Cause Group?

Acts 2:41-47.  A Common Cause Group is a small group of Christian believers or seekers who meet regularly to grow spiritually and impact their surroundings through acts of kindness. It is an environment where life-long friendships are made and community needs are met.

The Common Cause Groups have seven key objectives:
    S Spiritual Growth
E Extending Kindness in the Community
    R Reproducing Leaders
    V Volunteerism
    I International Missions
    C Caring for One Another
    E Explaining Christ’s Message

These groups come together and share a meal, share what is going on in their lives, share times of prayer and teaching in Christ and find projects and opportunities to share the love of Christ in tangible ways within the communities.  It may be building a deck for a neighbor in need, yard work for an elderly woman, or helping a family with groceries.   To see what kind of things we accomplish, click HERE:
We have several “Common Cause” groups that meet during the week:
  • The Refuge Common Cause Group: for young adults, meets Wednesday nights at Starbucks, See Jake McWhirter for more information. Visit the refuge at www.findtherefuge.com
  • Senior High Common Cause Group: contact Ruthie or Josh Kwake for more information.

Get Connected with The Bridge

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Our Mission: Is to exalt Jesus Christ. We do this by reaching the world for Christ, one person at a time, by loving God, loving people, and serving the world.

How do I join The Bridge Church?

Bridge Church membership is a three step process:
CONNECTION – DISCOVERY – COVENANT COMMUNITY

CONNECTION The Bridge Connection is a one session class introducing people to The Bridge Ministry, its leadership, vision and purpose. These classes are offered bi-monthly and you can sign up for one by calling the church office at 360-568-4195.

DISCOVERY Those who come to a Connection have an opportunity to sign up for The Bridge Discovery class. Discovery is a six week class focusing on key teachings from the Bible about living the Christian life and being ‘on mission’ with Jesus Christ.

COVENANT COMMUNITY A covenant is an agreement made before God. The church is a ‘covenant community.’ Those who complete Discovery have the opportunity to make a Bible-based agreement before God and witnesses as members of The Bridge Church.
